Police on the west coast moved in to nab a speeder in Summerside-Irishtown last night but quickly realized that he was also nipping.

The 35-year-old blew under Criminal Code levels but did violate the Highway Traffic Act with his blood alcohol level, which means a seven-day suspension of license and loss of vehicle.

Then just before 3:00 this morning, the RNC stopped another vehicle on Main Street in Corner Brook. The driver, a 28-year-old man, was over the provincial alcohol limit. He suffers the same consequences as the person stopped a few hours earlier.
