Young people interested in a singing outlet will have a new opportunity to lend their voices starting this fall.
Focusing on education, accessibility and confidence, the Quintessential Vocal Ensemble has launched Solara Youth Voices, geared toward those aged 9-15, and of all skill levels.
Teacher Nick Leblanc says the program was built after big gaps were noticed between the public school system and organized choirs.
“We see Solara, our upcoming project, as something that can focus on the educational side of music and not just the performance,” he said.
“Choir often seems as synonymous with performance, but we strive to make this space more of an educational space.”
The program starts Sept. 15.
