Two men are facing serious weapons charges after an apartment complex on Brazil Street was evacuated last Friday.

RNC were called to the downtown area around 11:00 Friday morning with reports of people inside the building with a firearm.

The RNC Tactics and Rescue Unit and the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team contained the building and residents were evacuated.

One man was taken into custody around 4:00 p.m. while another man was arrested about an hour later and the scene was cleared.

Justin Wiseman and Jacob King arrested and charged

Thirty-three-year-old Justin Wiseman is facing four counts of pointing a firearm, five counts of assault with a weapon, and one count each of using a firearm in the commission of a robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of a probation order.

Thirty-five-year-old Jacob King is facing five counts of pointing a firearm, five counts of assault with a weapon, one count of using a firearm in the commission of a robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of failing to comply with a release order and three counts of breach of a prohibition order.
