Big game hunting season begins as scheduled on Saturday, regardless of the status of the provincial fire ban.
The ban has caused some to question the status of the season, given that the sparks from a gunshot could be considered a fire hazard.
The department of forestry says there are no plans to suspend or delay hunting in any big game management areas.
