RCMP say six firearms have been seized following an incident in Happy Valley-Goose Bay over the weekend.
Police were first called just before 1:30 Sunday morning.
They say a group of people in the sand pits near the dump access road reported a man making threats and claiming to have a firearm.
Police, along with help from their K9 unit, located the suspect, 44-year-old Justin Rumbolt, at a nearby home and arrested him.
RCMP say a search of Rumbolt’s home uncovered six firearms, all of which were seized.
The accused appeared in court on Monday on charges of uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and using an imitation firearm in commission of an offence.
The investigation is ongoing with more charges possible.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed, of have surveillance footage of a man with a firearm in the area of North West River Road and Otter Creek around the time of the incident to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
