ExxonMobil is cutting jobs in St. John’s as part of international changes being made to ensure the company’s long-term competitiveness.
The company announced a phased restructuring plan earlier this week that will result in 20 per cent fewer positions by 2027.
It says the change will allow them to draw more fully on global technical and corporate services and technology across locations.
ExxonMobil says the local cuts are part of plans to cut 2,000 jobs globally, but will not affect their projects or offshore workforce.
