Premier John Hogan is expressing concern after three Newfoundland activists who were part of the Freedom Flotilla were detained by Israeli officials.
Sadie Mees, Nikita Stapleton, and Devoney Ellis are believed to have been detained on Tuesday.
Premier John Hogan says the situation is “very concerning,” and his thoughts are with them and their families during what he calls “this very unsettling time.”
Hogan says he will keep in close communication with the minister of foreign affairs, Anita Anand, who has offered assurances that they are doing everything they can to bring the three women home safely.
The minister is urging those who are detained to accept consular services.
