U.S. President Donald Trump says it’s the beginning of a new era in the Middle East.
He says the skies are clear, the guns are silent and the hostages are coming home.
Earlier this morning, all 20 remaining living hostages held in Gaza were released to Israeli officials in exchange for more than 19-hundred Palestinian prisoners.
The U.S. President was in Israel today, telling Parliament that it must now seize the chance for peace, emphasizing the need to turn military victories into regional harmony.
“For so many families across this land, it has been years since you have known peace. But now the long and painful nightmare is finally over,” he said in a lengthy speech.
Trump took credit for ending several conflicts since taking office early this year.
“We settled eight wars in eight months, including this one. The hostages are back,” he said.
Trump also stated that they must now shift their focus to Russia.
