The MP for Labrador says additional equipment is being brought in to help clear the runways at Wabush Airport.
The runway was closed on the weekend and PAL Airlines was forced to delay and cancel a number of flights due to weather-related runway maintenance at the airport.
MP Philip Earle says additional equipment is being brought in, and chemical treatment is being applied to the runway to help break up ice accumulated on the tarmac.
As of this morning PAL was informed that the runway remains closed and an additional update is expected later today.
PAL says it is making its “best efforts” to accommodate travelers who have had their travel interrupted mid-journey.
The airline says it is committed to recovering operations as quickly as possible once runway conditions allow, and they get passengers moving.
