As if weather delays aren’t enough, a Marine Atlantic ferry crossing was interrupted Monday night by an unruly passenger.
The Highlanders had departed North Sydney en route to Port aux Basques, but the decision was made to turn back in the interest of safety for all.
The vessel was about two hours out from North Sydney at the time.
A spokesman for Marine Atlantic tells VOCM News that upon arrival back in port, local police took the passenger into custody and the ferry resumed its crossing to Newfoundland.
The spokesman said “there were crew members impacted” but did not elaborate.
VOCM was referred to Cape Breton police for additional details on the incident, the arrest, the suspect, and charges they’re facing.
