RCMP have arrested two people after finding a quantity of cocaine and open cannabis during a traffic stop in Isle aux Morts.

The incident happened just before 2:00 Saturday morning when police were patrolling the main road in the community.

When police officers pulled over the vehicle, they noticed suspected cocaine and cannabis in the car.

The driver, a 22-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man in the passenger side, were arrested at the scene for possession of a controlled substance.

The pair from St. David’s are expected to appear in provincial court in April.
