Two women were arrested on the weekend after police pulled over a driver who was under a Canada-wide driving ban.
Police were contacted by a concerned citizen around 3:00 in the morning on Sunday about a woman driving in the area of Goobies who was not supposed to be behind the wheel.
RCMP pulled the vehicle over in Sunnyside.
The driver was arrested for driving while prohibited, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, contraband tobacco and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, who showed signs of drug impairment was taken to hospital in Clarenville to have a blood sample drawn to see if further charges are warranted.
The 35-year-old passenger was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
