The end of an illustrious curling career is upon us as one of the most decorated skips plays his final Brier.
Brad Gushue won the 2017 national men’s curling championship in St. John’s, going on to win the world championship that year.
The event begins Friday night at the Mary’s Brown’s Centre with Gushue playing Quebec. The semi-finals and final are set for Sunday, March 8.
It will be an emotional time for the St. John’s skip and his rink.
“I think we are still capable of winning it…I’m probably more nervous about how I’m going to handle those emotions than how we are going to perform on the ice,” says Gushue.
