The capital city has awarded $3.5 million in contracts to private companies to assist city crews in clearing roads in a number of neighbourhoods.
The city has awarded a $1.5 million contract to clear roads in Southlands, another $1.2 million contract has been awarded for Kenmount Terrace and an $800,000 contract has been awarded to help clear Airport Heights including the Ann Jeannette subdivision.
The city says work has already started and it’s hoped that all roads will be cleared and widened by Sunday, March 1, barring any further snowfalls.
