An English adventurer will be in St. John’s this spring to make another attempt to cross the big ocean in a tiny boat.
Andrew Bedwell encountered problems with his mini-boat before he even got going the last time, but he has a new vessel this time around.
It’s only a little over a metre-long.
The original boat was irreparably damaged while being lifted out of the water. The new one has been completely redesigned, he says.
Bedwell plans to arrive in St. John’s around the middle of May to do the preparations. Then, it’s a matter of getting the right weather window.
He is 1.8 metres (6′) tall, so you don’t lie down in the boat – you sit in it or curl up in fetal position. He says this one is more comfortable than the last.
