The work and mission of the Cowan Heights United Church was highlighted in the House of Assembly earlier this week.
St. John’s West MHA Keith White paid tribute to church volunteers and the Reverend Oliver Dingwall for their initiatives and making Cowan Heights United a welcoming space for people across all sectors of society.
He says the church grounds feature a “thriving” community garden with 12 plots for local residents. “The church also operates a food pantry, and through its Home Harbour initiative, hosts a weekly community meal, bringing people together while addressing food insecurity.”
