The pilots of an Air Canada Jazz plane are dead after colliding with a ground vehicle at New York’s LaGuardia Airport last night.
According to international media, the pilot and co-pilot were killed when the plane struck a fire response vehicle upon landing from Montreal just before midnight.
Forty-one passengers were taken to hospital. Most have since been released however nine people remain hospitalized. Some of the injuries are believed to be serious.
Photos of the crash show extensive damage to the front end of the aircraft.
The airline confirmed the crash in a statement released early this morning and says 72 passengers and 4 crew members were on board.

Operations at LaGuardia are suspended until further notice.
A team of investigators from Canada’s Transportation Safety Board will arrive at the site later today.
