The province’s new health information system officially launches today.

CorCare will provide improved access to information for patients and health care providers through one shared digital record.

NL Health Services says that will mean fewer gaps in information, better continuity of care across hospitals, clinics and health care providers, and more consistent workflow.

Residents will notice greater access through their MyHealthNL account to appointments, test results, care plans and even current wait lists.

As the new program is phased in, patients may notice some minor slowdowns accessing specialty clinics and elective surgeries, such as orthopedics, ENT and plastic surgery during the launch.
