Memorial University is in the process of completing its year-end fiscal review, but until the results are presented to the Board of Regents, President Janet Morrison is unable to provide specifics about the progress made on addressing a $23 million deficit.
Morrison says while a lot of progress has been made, “there’s still a lot of work to be done.”
Morrison is now involved in a review of the university’s academic and administrative structure, to review all administrative spending and respond to declining enrollment.
“There is still work to be done and difficult decisions that need to be made” she told VOCM News. “The initiation of this review is really the next step in ensuring Memorial’s long-term sustainability. So, I’m looking forward to digging into this with my colleagues.”
