Police had an unusual situation on their hands early last night as a man threw a rock at a vehicle which was stopped in traffic.

The incident, which resulted in damage to the windshield, unfolded on Topsail Road in St. John’s at about 6:00.

A witness was able to follow the suspected rock thrower out of the area until the RNC arrived.

A 39-year-old man was arrested without incident, and charged with causing property damage and breaching court orders.
