NLSchools is pausing Kinderstart registration for 2026, and Kindergarten registration for 2027 for all students on the Avalon until this September.

The move comes as a result of concerns raised by the Privacy Commissioner’s report on the 2024 PowerSchool privacy breach.

The commissioner recommended that MCP numbers no longer be collected, and NLSchools says the delay will allow them time to update the registration process.

Families in other parts of the province who have already registered will not be affected, and their MCP numbers will no longer be used, or kept in the database.
