For the first time ever, the Qalipu First Nation is holding its regular meeting of the Chief and Council in St. John’s today.
The meeting is being called a “historic first” by the group.
They say holding the meeting in St. John’s will help improve accessibility and engagement opportunities for members in the area, and affirm their presence on the eastern portion of the island.
The meeting is taking place in an office building on Kelsey Drive at 10 a.m. and will be livestreamed on the Qalipu First Nation membership database.
Regular governance matters will be addressed.
