The Brain Tumour Walk is taking place in Paradise tomorrow.
The event is hosted by the Brain Tumour Foundation and is fundraising to support those impacted.
The event will provide the opportunity for people to connect with researchers, health care professionals and community organizations who are working to support those affected.
They’ll also set up a “Tree of Hope” where they can honour loved ones impacted by brain tumours.
Event Coordinator for the Paradise Brain Tumour Walk, Suzanne Grouchy, says the their goal is to raise $1.5-million across Canada.
“It’s really important to have this space for people who are affected by brain tumours. It really provides a lot of motivation and (it’s) uplifting for the survivors, their families and the families who are there (in) remembrance of somebody. It great to be able to share stories with those who have gone through the same diagnosis and it creates a lot of hope for everybody”.
The event will take place at the Paradise Rotary Youth Community Centre at 8:30, with the walk starting at 10 a.m. around Octagon Pond.
