The RNC is spreading the word about the importance of wearing a helmet as people start taking to the roads on their bicycles.

The Constabulary is reminding children and parents to always wear a properly fitted helmet, bright clothing and protective gear when out cycling.

RNC Constable Steph Myers says to ride on the right side of the road, walk the bike through crosswalks, and maintain eye contact with drivers to make sure they see you.

She says the majority of bike users are children.
