The motorcycle Ride for Dad clewed up yesterday, raising over $106,000 towards prostate cancer research.
Since 2007, the local ride has raised over $2-million for prostate cancer research and early detection campaigns in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Researcher Dr. Ken Hirasawa and his team are on the receiving end of $23,000 from this year’s event.
He agrees that a lot of progress has been made in the fight against prostate cancer but people are still dying. Hirasawa believes medical science is close to finding a cure.
