School’s out for summer as of tomorrow, which means more time in front of screens for some kids over the break.
RNC Constable Steph Myers says it’s important for parents to keep an eye on their kids who may be spending more time online.
That warning is stressed even more so now after RNC determined a local child was targeted by online terrorist group 764 on the popular gaming platform Roblox.
Myers says while it’s impossible to monitor every interaction on the internet, there are some safeguards parents can put in place.
She says it’s a good idea to put any devices in common areas in the home, rather than letting the child have access in their bedroom. Parents should keep their child’s usernames and passwords handy and consider implementing limits on screen time.
