A man who was found guilty of armed robbery and weapons offences has had his conviction quashed following an appeal.
Two people, who were wearing masks across the lower portion of their faces, entered the West End Club on Hamilton Avenue on December 11, 2020. One of them brandished a knife at the bartender, who ran into the bathroom and locked the door.
The two fled with the contents of the safe.
The RNC arrested Andrew Moylett, but the home address for him on Casey Street was disputed by the defense during the trial.
He sought an acquittal but the Court of Appeal stopped short of that, instead ordering a new trial.
