A 29-year-old man is facing firearms-related charges following an incident in St. John’s.
The RNC was called to reports of a man with a firearm in a greenspace in the Barnes Road area yesterday.
Police looked at video surveillance, and saw a man could be seen brandishing what appeared to be a handgun.
Around 10:30 p.m. Henry Fitzgerald was arrested in connection with the incident. According to police, Fitzgerald did not have a firearm on him at the time.
The accused appeared in court today on charges of careless use of a firearm, breach of a firearms prohibition order, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and other breaches.
