Fire suppression efforts continue in Labrador West today with Mother Nature also providing some relief.
Environment Canada is forecasting showers in the region over the next couple of days which is a much welcome sight as crews continue to battle several blazes near Labrador City and Wabush.
Premier Tony Wakeham says four provincial waterbombers have been working in Labrador alongside an aircraft from New Brunswick.
Wakeham says he’s put the call out to other provinces for additional resources.
He is looking for additional waterbomber support in order to get the situation under control as quickly as possible.
An evacuation order remains in place for some areas, however those orders have not been expanded since the situation worsened on Monday.
