The Canada Day fireworks in St. John’s have been cancelled.

The display was postponed yesterday due to the fire weather index being in the high category.

Since that outlook has not changed, the display has now been cancelled outright.

The city says the event cannot be rescheduled because of the significant coordination and logistical requirements involved.
