There is an increased police presence in Happy Valley-Goose Bay due to the discovery of a possible military munition in the water.
The operation is taking place in the Hamilton River Road and Markland Road areas.
RCMP have secured the area and are waiting for experts with the Canadian Armed Forces to arrive to help remove the item from the water.
There is no risk to public safety at this time, however people are being asked to stay away from the area while they do their work.
