Three people have been arrested in connection with a home invasion and attempted murder in Harbour Grace on Friday.
The incident resulted in the closure of Harvey Street for an extended period of time while police responded.
RCMP were called about a break-in at a home in the town during which time three men forced their way in and assaulted a person inside with a weapon.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
A short time later police were called after a pick-up truck struck a person outside a second location. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and the investigation determined that both incidents were related.
The victims and suspects are all known to one another and the hit and run was determined to be in retaliation for the earlier break, enter and assault.
Forty-four-year-old Christopher Bursey and 36-year-old Steven Clowe have been arrested and charged in connection with the home invasion.
Meanwhile, 39-year-old Travis Hunt has been charged with one count of attempted murder.
Police say further charges are possible.

Bursey is charged with:

· Breaking and entering with intent
· Aggravated assault
· Disguise with intent
· Failure to comply with a condition of a release order
Clowe faces charges of:
· Robbery
· Breaking and entering with intent
· Aggravated assault
