There are plenty of new electric powered vehicles zipping along roads and sidewalks, in and out of traffic, and people who make the laws are taking note.

Current laws cover all-terrain vehicles and the like, but not e-bikes and e-scooters, which are becoming more popular, especially with young people.

Minister of Government Services, Mike Goosney says they’re going to have consultations with legislation to be introduced in the Fall sitting.

“I have friends of children that use them, and I think everyone has noticed the uptake in the numbers,” says Minister Goosney.

“It’s something we have to address.”
