Quebec Premier Christine Frechette says her province and Newfoundland and Labrador will reach an agreement shortly on Churchill Falls.
However, Premier Tony Wakeham continues to hold his cards close to his chest about the state of negotiations for hydro development on the Churchill River.
Wakeham has not indicated the same, only to say that Newfoundland and Labrador is at the table – and the recommendations from the MOU review are providing the framework for their negotiations.
He says things are moving forward, and whether or not they get a deal will depend if they can get “more power, more transmission, and more value for the people (of the province.)”
