The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says they found “large compliance” during a recent enforcement blitz targeting motorcycle noise and commercial vehicle safety.
The national initiative is known as “Operation Safe Driver.”
Between last Thursday and Saturday, the RNC and highway enforcement targeted what they call “high complaint areas” – those being Waterford Bridge Road, the Outer Ring near East White Hills Road, and the Paradise section of Kenmount Road.
Police say the majority of vehicles were compliant, and most of the infractions they did find could be corrected roadside.
Tickets were issued for things like insecure cargo, unregistered vehicles, and invalid licenses.
