A 39-year-old man from Bonavista Bay is facing a raft of charges after putting up some resistance to police attempts to take him into custody.
RCMP conducted a curfew check on Jonathan Peters of Knight’s Cove on Saturday evening, but he was not at home.
Police later found him walking along the road, and officers attempted to arrest him for failing to comply with a release order.
RCMP say Peters wouldn’t go peacefully and allegedly assaulted the arresting officers and caused damage to a police car.
He’s now facing charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, damage to property, and failing to comply with a release order.
