A facebook page which invites Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to share their health care stories is picking up steam.
Some 9,000 people have joined the Newfoundland Healthcare Crisis facebook page, to follow and share stories about the state of the province’s health care system.
Alicia Harnum says the idea of creating a page came to her ten years ago after she lost her family doctor and she started posting about the difficulties she’d faced in accessing timely care and follow-up.
She says she kind of forgot about it, but decided to revisit the page in recent months after it suddenly started gaining more attention.
“Within this past year, I noticed an explosion of new posts, and just kind of sharing information, and people wanting to join…it’s seen a lot of growth.”
