The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has arrested and charged a man after he was clocked at nearly double the speed limit on the TCH near Corner Brook.
The RNC received a call about the vehicle just after 2:00 Friday afternoon.
They say the vehicle was driving at 190 km/h.
They attempted to pull the driver over, but they did not stop, ran a red light, and abandoned the vehicle on a gravel roadway near the Lewin Parkway and Pratt Street.
After a brief foot chase the suspect, 37-year-old Scott King, was arrested.
They say King was wanted on two outstanding warrants at the time. It is alleged that he used a counterfeit bill at a convenience store on June 17th, and fled from police in a vehicle on June 28th.
Now, King is facing additional charges of flight from police and dangerous operation. He was held for court.
