The family of a young boy who passed away nearly two years ago is asking people to share acts of kindness in his memory.
Eleven-year-old Jake Anstey passed away on November 2, 2024 after suffering a cardiac arrest earlier in the year.
To honour Jake’s memory, his family has started something they’re calling Jake’s Force Day – a tribute to his love of Star Wars.
They are asking people to go to their website and record an act of kindness they have done.
As Jake’s mom, Lisa Hodder, explains, they want to record 1,111 acts of kindness through the website by November 2nd.
Over 200 submissions have been received so far.
Hodder says the grief her family feels can be overwhelming, but when people say Jake’s name, tell his story or do an act of kindness in his name, it brings them comfort.
“I think Jake is absolutely smiling and laughing at some of the things that are coming in. I truly believe that he can see or feel what’s happening in some way.”
