Ward 3 councillor Greg Noseworthy says things are improving, but residents are still improperly disposing of junk and garbage in and around the capital city.
Noseworthy was part of a community cleanup effort around Cowan Heights and St. Matthew’s Elementary ahead of the upcoming school season.
Noseworthy says the number of broken beer bottles on area trails is down from previous years, but some surprising items were still recovered.
“Thankfully, we didn’t find much in the way of needles, which is also great,” however people are still disposing of items improperly.
“We pulled an old bed and mattress out of the woods, an old bike, and these are things that….Robin Hood Bay is set up to dispose of” for free.
