NL Health Services says repairs are underway to address ongoing problems with the heating system at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre.

NLHS says the Rehabilitation Technology Department, located on the main floor of the building, is one of a few areas supplied by what’s known as a closed loop hydronic system.

The health authority says while the system is currently working, repairs are ongoing to address damage caused by a recent series of leaks in the piping.

Affected areas include a seating assessment storage room, the prosthetics fitting room, the prosthetics casting room and an office.

NLHS says an engineering firm has been contacted to review the system and officials are reviewing available options to make improvements.

In the meantime, the Rehabilitation Technology Department is using alternative space as needed. Patients are being contacted about any changes to their appointments.
