There’s a public meeting tonight in the centre city area to talk about road safety as some residents do not feel safe when in traffic.

The dimensions in question encompass Mayor Ave.-Merrymeeting, Mayor to Empire Ave., and the general zone around Sobeys.

One of the organizers, Megan Marshall, says the breaking point happened when there were two bad accidents in one day.

She told VOCM Open Line with Brian Callahan that she’s hoping to see some members of city council at the meeting.

“This is about people with lived experiencers speaking out, and people who have kids going to the various schools, and people who work at Sobeys and have to do dodge traffic to avoid being struck,” says Marshall.

The meeting takes place at the H.U.B. on Merrymeeting Road starting at 6:00.
