The Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union is reporting strong growth in its 2025 year-ender.
NLCU’s assets increased by 6.2 per cent by the end of last year, or close to $50-million, to $832-million. Loans and mortgages receivable reached $772-million, with loan portfolios growing by 8.7 per cent. Member deposits rose by almost 7 per cent to just under $800-million.
Glenn Bolger, CEO and treasurer, says they strengthened their financial position, modernized the technology, and expanded the digital banking channels.
NLCU also partnered with the City of St. John’s on the Shift Community Retrofit Financing Program, a lending framework projected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 512 tonnes annually and create 120 jobs.
NLCU, the largest credit union in the province with 12 branches, employs about 130 people.
