Traffic is already heading to Galway as Costco has officially opened its gas pumps ahead of its grand store opening. The new store, the largest Costco Wholesale location in the country, will open its doors on Thursday, June 27th.
The Mayor of St. John’s says he’s contacted the St. John’s Transportation Commission about Metrobus service to Southlands and to the retail portion of Galway.
Employees and members alike have questioned whether or not Metrobus will expand its routes to take in the new Galway store.
Mayor Danny Breen says it’s something they’re looking at.
He says it will be more practical to consider once Southlands Boulevard hooks into Danny Drive sometime in the fall. That’s when they may launch a pilot project to gauge ridership.
