The next Newfoundland and Labrador representative of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians is MHA Pam Parsons.
The member for Harbour Grace – Port de Grave, will replace Minister Lisa Dempster in the role.
The organization aims to increase the number of women in Parliament throughout Canada and the Commonwealth.
The vote took place on June 19th and involved all female members of the House of Assembly.
Parsons says there is much to be done to increase the number of women in politics. She says she is representing all women in the legislature, and wants to work closely with them and be active on the ground.
