As Phase two of the Muskrat Falls Inquiry winds down, the Commission has announced the schedule for Phase three of the public hearings.
The first phase covered the period leading up to sanction in December 2012, the current phase is looking at DG3, the construction phase, and the next round will cover the financial effects of the hydro project on ratepayers and taxpayers.
The commission has arranged for a panel of witnesses to provide presentations on the consequences of paying for Muskrat Falls from increased power rates and/or general revenue.
The commission will also explore how the province can prepare for 2041 and the expiry of the 1969 agreement, including an examination of exports, load forecasts and strategy. They will also look at the role of the civil service, record-keeping and managing large-scale publicly-funded projects.
