The RCMP confirms two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision early this morning on the Trans Canada Highway, just west of Gander.

Gander RCMP responded to a call of a vehicle in flames on the TCH about two kilometers west of Gander at 4:00 a.m..

Gander Fire Department was already on the scene.

There was one occupant in one vehicle, and four in the other. Two of whom are confirmed deceased.

The cause of the collision is under investigation. The RCMP will release further information tomorrow.
