The Shallaway Youth Choir are coming off a big win at the Seghizzi Choral Competition Grand Prix in Italy, and now are off for concerts in Venice, Florence and Rome.
The Choir will also sing at full mass at St. Peter’s Basilica and the Canadian Embassy.
The Youth Choir is the first from the province to make the competition and they’re coming home with some hardware after winning third place overall, along with a gold medal in the gospel category and a silver medal in contemporary music.
The Shallaway Choir was one of six choirs in the final round of the 31st annual Grand Prix that featured choirs of all ages and genres.
