The body of a 24-year-old man has been recovered from the waters of Gander Bay.

The Marine Rescue Sub-Centre in St. John’s was notified around 2:30 Saturday afternoon that two people were in the water after an incident involving jet ski. One person was rescued.

RCMP NL’s Recovery Team, Bonivista Ground Search and Rescue and Deer Lake Ground Search and Rescue recovered the body late Monday afternoon after resuming the search early Monday morning.

RCMP have informed the family.

RCMP thank those who assisted in the the search. They include the Canadian Coast Guard, 9 Wing Gander, Bonavista Ground Search and Rescue, Gander Bay Fire Department and Deer Lake Ground Search and Rescue.
