A 14-year-old child is dead following a collision between a dirt bike and pickup on a woods road in Burgoynes Cove on the Bonavista Peninsula.
RCMP were called to the scene around 4:40 yesterday afternoon.
Police say the crash occurred on a turn, and while both vehicles attempted to avoid the crash, the reaction time was too short.
The child—who was wearing a helmet and other safety gear—was taken to hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
The investigation continues.
